All suggestions and complaints regarding arena operation go through this committee, and are routed to the proper committee for action. A. Finance - Prepares the proposed budget for presentation to the Board of Directors. Makes recommendations concerning insurance, files quarterly sales tax forms, and makes recommendation on special or extraordinary expenditures. B. Rules - Sets standard for conduct of players, coaches and parents in the Association. Accepts suggestions on all regulations, policies and rules of the Association, and presents recommendations to the Board of Directors. Conducts a Board of Review as required for disciplinary action. Makes recommendations on Bylaw revision and the Code of Ethics. Maintenance This committee is responsible for the maintenance of the building, arena facilities, and equipment. This also includes facility grounds, indoor ice, outdoor ice, Zamboni & cleaning. A. Cleaning - This committee is responsible for all the ordering of supplies and scheduling of teams for their weeks of cleaning. Referees Develops, trains and promotes referees and recruits referees for use by the Association. This is done through testing and clinics each year. Schedules referees for games and tournament. Maintains record of payment and ensures that referees are paid. Coaches Recruits, screens and selects perspective coaches. Provides recommendation of coaches and placement to the Board of Directors for approval. Sets standards for coaches, ensures that coaches are properly certified, and maintains the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association guidelines for coaches. All approved coaches are considered members of this committee. Concession This committee is in charge of the concession stand. It is responsible for scheduling workers, and maintaining the stock and recording & making daily deposits, setting prices and maintaining vending machines. Equipment Issues and collects equipment for the season. Orders new equipment and repairs and maintains current equipment. Obtains sponsors to finance jerseys. Also in charge of operations and maintenance of the skate sharpener. Registration Sets up and processes applications for registration of skaters in the Association. Collects all registration fees for deposit. Provides pre-registration publicity and advertising to all grade schools and newspapers. Provides a status and financial report to the Board of Directors after registration. Orientation of new members. Tournament Schedules and conducts all tournaments at the arena. Contacts potential participants by phone or through the mail or email. Works with the ice scheduler to coordinate ice time. All team manages are members of this committee. Hockey School Responsible for setting up the Fall Hockey Schools. Provides registration materials, and advertising to promote the schools. Locates instructors, assistants and workers, registers players, collects fees, establishes groups, order and distribute jerseys and works with ice schedule to set-up times. Develops ideas for ice clinics/camps. Figure Skaters This committee is responsible for the Figure Skating Club, and the Skate with Us Program. They handle registration, hire qualified instructors, and conduct practices. They also plan and put on exhibitions to showcase the skaters in the program. Committee consists of Board of Directors of CFSC. Scheduling This committee is responsible for all the scheduling of both rinks, for hockey and figure skating, for their practices and games. Signs This committee maintains signs in the arena, bills sponsors, installs and remove signs. Contact sponsors to sell new signs for the arena. Contact vendors who make the signs. Marketing, Promotions & Fundraising This committee provides information about the Association and events to local media markets. Develops ideas to make the association more visible to the community. Develops policies such as signs and logos to make the association more visible. This committee also publishes a newsletter on an every other month basis for upcoming events and dates of importance to members. Maintenance of the web-site is also included. Internal communication for the association is of high importance to this committee. The Blue Line committee will report to the chair of Marketing, Promotions & Fundraising. A. Blue Line - This committee is responsible for all fund raising and promotional activities. This includes ordering and disbursement of fund raising items, collection of money and organizing of activities. Ice Bowl The Ice Bowl is an annual fundraising event that takes places in early April. The first event was held in 2003 and it has been profitable since inception. The Ice Bowl event is coordinated by a 10-15 member Ice Bowl Committee that meets throughout the calendar year to plan the event activities. The Ice Bowl Committee solicits feedback from the Association Board on key decisions and periodically provides updates on plans and overall status. Other key groups and individuals that the Ice Bowl Committee works with are: Figure Skating Club, Treasurer, Hockey Alumni and local business leaders.
